National Cultural Profiles

These Telegraph profiles are really quite remarkable. Compare, for example the Chinese and the French. Who said that ego had no limits?

Telegraph Expat National Cultural Profiles China:

"Values and Beliefs: In China you are dealing with people who place values and principles above money and expediency. Everything is to be gained by being modest, courteous, and extremely deferential.
Cultural Black Holes: The Chinese Cultural Black Hole is their concept of the 'Chung-kuo' - the Middle Kingdom. China is the centre of the world, has the oldest civilisation and therefore other countries are peripheral, young, inexperienced, often immoral and lacking in real values.

Self-image: The Chinese truly believe that they possess a huge store of positive traits, which makes them superior to others. These include: modesty, impartiality, purity, tolerance, wisdom, generosity, trustworthiness and courtesy.
