Just a thought for this week:

The most psychologically mature -- and secure -- individuals are those who can give without being diminished by their giving.

I found those words on a bookmark in a book I bought in a used book shop years ago. I've tried to trace their origin or author, but even Google turns up nothing.

But I believe these words to be true. I'm not talking about church here. I'm talking about life. When I focus on what I'd lack after I give, that's a blunt measure how much growing up I still have to do.
