September 1959 - Ads from "The San Francisco Hotel Greeters Guide" - Remember Tom Lehrer, Ernestine Anderson, and Bobby Short? Tony Bennett's song "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" didn't come out for 2 more years... until 1961. The "Squire Room" was for MEN only... very "Mad Men" in those days! Also I loved Blum's at the Fairmont. It was on the very corner of the building and had a remarkable Monte Cristo and Coffee Crunch Cake! Thanks to Peter MIntun!
