GOOGLEPHOBIA
The Europeans have taken issue with the Google project to digitize book content in the near future. It has taken the form of a 96m Euro plan to create a pan-european database to compete with the Google project. The stated purpose of the effort is to blunt possible American hegemony in the field. Google still plans to include all 26 European countrires in its proposal. Arn't theare better uses of this substantial amount of money than duplication of effort?
